Milan Nestarec: rising star of natural wine in the Czech Republic

collection

After Milan Nestarec took over the 8 hectares of vineyards planted by his father in 2001 the Czech winery quickly gained international acclaim for its clean, refreshing and vibrant skin-contact white wines. A big influence on Milan was Aleš Kristančič who has been described as ‘the wine genius of Slovenia’ and taught him a lot of the fine art of making orange wines. Based in Moravia, the eastern part of the Czech Republic near the border to Austria, the vineyard has a host of varieties including Riesling, Welschriesling, Neuburger and Pinot Noir.
